本部長からのご挨拶

森林総合研究所 理事長 エンカレッジ推進本部長  沢田 治雄

近年の国民の価値観の多様化にともない、森林総合研究所が主な対象とする森林には、林産物や水などの資源供給機能とともに、国土保全やレクリエーション、さらには地球環境改善への貢献など、多面的な機能の持続的な発揮が求められています。
このような状況の下で、森林総合研究所は、平成27年4月に研究開発成果の一層の拡大を目的とした「国立研究開発法人」となりました。同時に、森林保険センターを設置するなど、森林・林業・林産業に求められる様々な国民の要求に応えられる組織体制を整えています。
職場環境においては、「多様性」が重要であるという認識のもと、男女共同参画室を設置し、つくば周辺の研究教育機関と連携・協力をして平成21年に「つくば6研究教育機関による男女共同参画宣言」を行いました。さらに、平成23年には「森林総合研究所男女共同参画宣言」を策定するなど、男女共同参画社会の実現に向けて積極的に取り組んでいます。
具体的には、森林総合研究所職員の意識向上のために、エンカレッジ推進セミナーの開催、妊娠・育児・介護に関するガイドブックの作成、職員を対象とした意識調査の取組等を行っています。
今後も、ワーク・ライフ・バランスを配慮した環境整備を目指して、男女を問わず多様な人材がそれぞれの能力を存分に発揮できる職場環境の充実をはかります。そのために、地域社会・関係機関と連携協力をしながら、各種セミナーや意識啓発等を通じて、男女共同参画を推進していく所存です。

Greetings from the President

 

In recent years, there is an apparent diversification of values among people in various fields. Such diversity is also to be observed in forestry. Many functions are necessary with regard to the forests, such as the resource supply of forest products and water, land conservation, recreation, and contribution to the global environment.
Under such circumstances, the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute (FFPRI) became a National Research and Development Agency in April 2015 for the further expansion of research and development activities. At the same time, the organizational structure has been restructured to effectively respond to the eclectic public demands made of the forestry and forest products industries. Furthermore, the Forestry Insurance Center within FFPRI has been established.
The FFPRI established the Gender Equality Office to uphold the significant characteristic of “diversity” with regard to its work environment. We adopted the “Gender Equality Declaration of Tsukuba 6 Research and Educational Institution” in 2009 with the cooperation of research institutions around Tsukuba. Furthermore, we announced the “Gender Equality Declaration of the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute” in 2011. Thus, the FFPRI is actively working toward the realization of a gender-equal society.
The FFPRI has been promoting awareness on gender equality among its staff by organizing seminars, creating a “guide book on pregnancy, child care, and nursing care,” and conducting awareness surveys.
Based on previous experiences, we are further promoting gender equality by developing a working environment wherein individuals with diverse backgrounds, regardless of their gender, can optimally demonstrate their abilities and maintain their work-life balance.
 We will also organize seminars and awareness programs in cooperation with the local community and associated organizations to promote gender equality. We are grateful for your continued assistance and support in this regard.
