Department of Forest Soils

The Department of Forest Soils specializes in research of biogeochemical processes and nutrient dynamics in soil with the aim of clarifying the material cycle of forest ecosystems. The department also compiles information concerning forest soil in Japan, and to that end, we develop methods for evaluating multifunctional characteristics of forest soil.
