Access

Visits to facilities 

• Visitors are welcome to look around the public areas free of charge.
• Please note that our institution is primarily for research. We may occasionally have to decline visitors due to research work without prior notice.
• Register at the main building reception on your arrival and please be aware of the on-site rules.
• Feel free to walk around the premises and relax. You may enjoy some sketching in the arboretum.
• Ask for permission at the reception before visiting the specimen pavilion or using the library.
• Pre-booking is required for group visits.
• Visiting hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on public holidays.

Access

*From JR Kochi Station

By JR(Japan Railways) Dosan Line, get off at JR Asakura Station. Walk (30 minutes) or take a taxi (8 minutes).

By Streetcar (Tosaden), get on at Minamiguchi stop (At the south exit of the train station)

and get off at Asakura-eki mae stop. Walk (30 minutes) or take a taxi (8 minutes).

By bus, take any Y2~Y6 Tosaden bus from Kitaguchi stop (At the north exit of the train station) and get off at Nishijoyama stop, then walk for 10 minutes.

From Harimaya-bashi / Kochi Prefectural Office (Downtown area)

By bus, take any west-bound Y2~Y6 Tosaden bus and get off at Nishijoyama stop, then walk for 10 minutes. 

From Kochi Ryoma Airport

By airport bus, take the bus bound for Kochi Station, and get off at the terminal stop, JR Kochi Station.

From Kochi Expressway Ino Interchange

By car, 15 minutes

Take Route 38 southwards at the junction of JR Asakura Station. After passing Kochi National Hospital on your right, keep going for about 350 meters then turn right at the traffic lights.
