The Department of Wood Properties and Processing specializes in wood-processing technologies and wood properties with the aim of expanding the use of wood. We develop highly advanced wood-processing technologies, technologies for the utilization of wood biomass, and non-destructive assessment technologies. We also research the physical properties of wood, variations in the anatomical structures of wood from various species of trees, genetic and environmental influences on the properties of wood from useful species, and dynamics of radioactive cesium in trees.
