Commentary |
This small woodpecker species is found only in forests, but also in urban parks and garden. In the Tama Forest Science Garden, this species is often found in the Cherry Tree Preservation Forest and Arboretum. This species forms mixed groups with Paridae and forages for insects. You can identify them by their distinctive cry of ''ghee'' and the knocking sound they make on dead trees. |
