Commentary |
A perennial plant that grows in sunny areas. The Japanese name is based on the fact that it has long been used as a fast-acting folk medicine for diarrhea. There are many hairs on the stem and leaf, and some of them are glandular. The flowers range in color from magenta to white, but in the Kanto region, the vast majority are white. The fruits are long pods, and the seeds are in the bulge a the base. |
