Commentary |
A perennial plant that grows in the mountains. It reaches a height of 1 to 1.5 m. The flowers are large and bloom sideways and have a strong scent. The tepal is white with yellow streaks and reddish brown spots. The anthers are linear and large, and the pollen is reddish brown. The fruit is cylindrical, divided into three chambers, and densely packed with thin, winged seeds. The bulb is edible, and consumed as ''lily root.'' |
