＜背景・経緯＞
東アジアの生物多様性を保全するための国際共同を通して研究基盤を構築するために、東アジアの7研究機関が2014年に設立したネットワークです。
東アジアのフロラのリスト作り、温暖化影響の評価などの共同研究を開始しています。

Scope of 2015 EABCN Workshop on Monitoring on Climate Change Impact
The globally averaged combined land and surface temperature showed a warming of 0.85˚C, over the period 1880 to 2012, and predicted to increase by 0.3 to 4.8 ˚C in next 100 years (IPCC, 2013). Past climate warming impact on vegetation was reported more in western countries (e.g. Lenoir et al. 2008) than in East Asia (e.g. Shimazaki et al. 2012). These reports suggested the climate warming has already been changing vegetation. Because of few studies and data on this topic, we have limited knowledge on changing biodiversity and ecosystems. Thus, monitoring aiming to detect changes of biodiversity and assessment of climate change impact on it are necessary for biodiversity conservation.
There is a variety of monitoring on biodiversity in terms of objectives and methods. In this workshop on June 2, after current situation of monitoring relating to biodiversity is presented by each institute, the strategy and plan of monitoring conducted by EABCN will be discussed.
