REDD+ is highlighted as a new framework for reducing CO2 emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. REDD+ also is expected to contribute to biodiversity conservation and the improved livelihoods of local and indigenous communities. A REDD+ Ministerial Meeting will be held during COP10 of the Convention on Biological Diversity. This international workshop is organized to deepen discussion on REDD+ by presentations from experts focusing on forest carbon monitoring, synergy to biodiversity conservation and current REDD+ practices. Not only experts of REDD+, but also persons who are interested in tropical forests and biodiversity are welcome to participate.
